Graphic card compatibility HELP ASAP!!!

I'm having an intel DG35EC classic series motherboard. And i wanted to buy a graphic card. The graphic card requires PCI-E 3.0 bus bus standard..will my motherboard support this graphic card..will it also support PCI-E 2.1 bus standard?

what difference will it make between these standards in terms of performance?

What is PCI express x16?

More about graphic card compatibility asap
  1. It will support 3.0 one without any problems, but I there's a chance it will not work with 2.1, however.

There is almost no performance difference between them.

PCI express x16 is a slot on your motherboard.
  2. There is no difference between PCIE 2.0 16x and 3.0 16x until you have multiple powerful GPUs (such as 3 way crossfire/sli).

PCIE2.0 and 3.0 are interchangeable, you can run a 3.0 card in a 2.0 slot (I am doing this on my PC). It simply operates at PCIE2.0 speeds, which are more than fast enough to support a single gpu.

There is no difference between 1.0 either.

Just remember that the bandwidth of PCI-E x16 1.0 is half of 2.0 and a quarter of 3.0
  5. Yes but it's still large enough so you don't lose performance.
