Hi, could someone please tell me if this will all work together and what type of fan should I be getting (also, should I go anything cheaper?(and should I get anything better for a similar value)
I plan on playing current games (BF3 and so on) on High or Maximum

If you really want CL8 (it won't make a large difference) get http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820226295
I'd suggest an SSD eg Samsung 830 or OCZ Vertex 4.
A 7970 will perform better than a GTX670.

With the Lp RAM, would a Crosair DDR3 - 1600 of some sort do? I'm not 100% on which products are Lp and which ones aren't. Aswell as this, If I was to overclock, what kind of cooling would be suggested? Also, is the GHz edition of the 7970 in any way superior to a normal 7970 (Not by miniscule amounts)?

Easy way to tell is simply by looking at the photos. The model numbers are also different. Corsair LP RAM generally has an L in place of a Z for the third letter (XMS3 is X, Value is V) eg:
CMZ8GX3M2A1600C9B Normal Vengeance
CML4GX3M2A1600C9B Vengeance LP
GSkill's Ares series are LP.

For cooling I would suggest either a CM Hyper 212 EVO or, if you plan to push it hard, a Noctua NH-D14 is considered pretty good.
EDIT: The GHz edition is a bit more powerful, but the standard 7970 is already very fast. I would also suggest getting an SSD.
