Graphic Cards SLI/Crossfire

Hello, I am trying to upgrade my computer by buying a ASUS Maximus V Gene along with 2 GTX 660ti. But totalling up the cost, its close to a $1000. I dont wish to give up the maximus, but I really do want to use sli. So is there a graphic card similar and cheaper at the same time?

7870 with crossfire? It should save you $100 with well, not very epic difference in performance (max about 5% difference).

Or just go with a single GTX670, nothing it can not handle at 1080P single monitor.

Thank you all for these suggestion. I will probably will get the gtx 670. I just decided that i did not want to use SLI or Crossfire cause its not necessary.
