Hi there!
I´m doing a lot of research, and as a newbie, I´m a little confused with so much information.
I wanted (because of the price) the Asus Geforce GTX 570. No, here in Argentina, my vendor tells me that they don´t have in stock it right now, so I started to look into other options.
I saw the Asus GTX670 with is quite expensive, the SAPPHIRE ATI Radeon HD 7870 (wich I´ve read that is already OC, and I don´t like that) and the SAPPHIRE ATI Radeon HD 7950.
I´ve also can find at a very convenient price the GTX 580 from Zotac.

Which one should I choose? I don´t want to buy an already OC´d video card.
I would like to play Battlefield (the latest version), but I do a lot of work in the machine, with video editing too.
I would like a quiet video card (I´ve read that Asus GTX are quite silent).

What do you recommend?
Thanks!!

The GTX 580 is a good card, both for gaming, and video editing. It is quite power hungry, so you need to check your power supply is adequate.
I don't know what pricing, and availability, are like in Argentina, but if you can get one of the new GTX 660Ti cards, at a sensible price, that may be a good alternative. Not far short of the 670, in performance, and slightly better than the 580, in some games, lower power consumption, and (I think) a bit quieter than 580. The only drawback HERE is that they are not a LOT cheaper than GTX 670's

Whats wrong with a pre-overclocked card? It'll be faster than a stock AND its covered by warranty. So if anything happens, your covered.

Because you havent given any prices, its hard to tell which is the most value for money. PLus, you havent stated your budget.

If i were you, i'd go for any of the AMD cards (7850, 7870, 7950) or for Nvidia, the 670. The AMD cards are elite over clockers. Whichever fits your budget, get it. you wont go wrong with the cards i have mentioned.

Regards

I will scale your options like this;

5- GTX 580 at $400 it is matched by the 660 and 7870 but on well reduced prices, the GTX 580 was the best card now its overpriced and had its day, at $400 the 670 and 7950 ($330) are far superior. Performance is still great and will be for a while but honestly if you pay $400 for this over other options you will look a fool.

4- GTX 570 at $230 this card is a steal, it can very easily max out all titles with tessellation goodies on.

3- HD 7870 under revision and due new drivers should easily run with the 660ti and both are better and cheaper than the GTX 580.....7870 overclocks like a beast.

2- HD 7950 at $330 its a steal also under revision and due newer drivers which should make it compete well with the GTX 670

1- GTX 670 best value for money, can't really do better and this is as a Radeon fan.

Hi again!! Thanks for your replies!
Sorry about not adding this information before, didn´t thought it was important...

SAPPHIRE ATI Radeon HD 7870 OC ----- USD 615
SAPPHIRE ATI Radeon HD 7950 -------- USD 675
Zotac GTX670 ----------------------- USD 675
Asus Geforce GTX 570 --------------- USD 560
Zotac GTX 580 ---------------------- USD 665

What the... That's too expensive! But if that's only your choice then I would go with the 670. Also, have you asked the store whether if the 7950 and the 7870 is going to drop down? Because last week and a month ago the 7950 just dropped from $420 then to $350 then to $320 and 7870 from $350 then to $300 then to $250 :).

The one card that is missing from the list is the GTX 660Ti. It is certainly worth considering, if it is priced around USD 600, or below. In comparason with the HD 7870, it has a slight lead, overall. More in some games, less in others, but in Battlefield 3, is quite a bit better (10%+ higher frame rates @ 1920x1080). Definitely worth a thought, if you can get it at reasonable price.
