Keyboard not working on laptop cant press f2 to change to disk

Hello, my kb on my laptop has stopped working, it works for some keys but not others, i have attached a serial kb and the same thing happens, which unfortunately means that i cant use the f2 key to get into the bios to change to boot to cd first,, help please.

tried taking battery out still same, need to reload windows but not booting from disk first

If you REALLY know what you are doing you can disassemble the laptop and replace the keyboard, I had to do that with mine after about 3 years of ownership.

i dont,, but i dont think it is the kb,, as an external kb worked once then went the same sorry
