Hi friends,

My colleague needs to buy a GPU around 120 USD (In INR Rs.5k), Most of the use with games and some video encoding. He plays GTA, Dirt 3, NFS, BF3 (on lower settings :D  ) Mostly he plays racing games. and the budget is too tight. no upgrading in future. OC ability not bothered. His present specs are

CPU : Intel C2D E7500 (Running at 3.4ghz :sol:  ),
Mobo : Asus P5QVM,
Ram : 4 gb ddr2
GPU : On board (present)
PSU : Seasonic S12 520w
Monitor Resolution : 1080p
Gaming Resolution : Mostly 1024x768

His heat readings are at idol MB:40c, CPU 45c at full load - MB 65c, and CPU 70c, so here no heat problem.

I suggested Him these

Either its from NVIDIA or from AMD he don't mind ultimately he need a good card that worth the money he paid.

Please suggest him the best card in the price, he cant go up above 160 usd. so kindly suggest the sub 160$ usd card.

Once he bought the card that will go on as long as its capacitors will blow, he doesn't upgrades that pc for at least next 10 years. :pt1cable:

sorry for my English.

thanks in advance. :D

6770 is a good budget card, however the newer 7770 is just a little bit faster and it'll cost pretty much the same, I bought mine not to long ago for $105. Or you can go the Nvidia route and get a gtx 460, the only problem with that card is that they're older so there's not to many around which would make adding a second one later if you want to go that route difficult.

550's are awful cards, there's way better options no matter how much your paying for it.

Unless you don't have enough power for a 7770 I wouldn't recommend the 7750, they cost the same but the 7770 is faster all day long, and would even be worth an $15 if the 7750's were cheaper.

Not really, HD 7770s are more expensive in the shop he gave us. Use that.

The radeon 6850 is also a very capable card, not much more expensive than the 7770. It performs better though and could probably handle BF3 on mid-high settings.

Just make it easier by giving the links and your budget in your currency rather than this figuring out what is what on conversion.

Now add shipping across the world price to that $150. Is it still within the budget?

@OP: I still stick with my recommendation for HD 7750.

+1^ It will be like $30-50 for shipping maybe ?

Wouldn't wanna pay that much for a used card anyway, to much risk.

+1 for the 7750.

at 1024*768 even a radeon hd6670 would suffice. so why are you guys recommending him hd6900 series ? hell at that resolution even a radeon hd5570 can max out most games.. so be sensible guys..

mohit, please don't talk if you have no idea what you're saying.

Let's see the performance of HD 7750, which is twice as powerful as HD 5570:

See? 44 fps. That's not even max settings. HD 5570 would get 22 fps.

Let's take another example.

Again, 42 fps, not max settings.

Let's take last example!

30 fps on not maximum settings. How would HD 5570 cope? It would be a slideshow.

Next time think before you post please.

oh Sunius you are right.. hd7750 is the right choice for him.. but definately not hd6870 and hd6950 that some people are recommending at 1024*768. but since he has a 1080p monitor why doesnt he take advantage of it.. in that case yeah an hd6870 or hd6950 would be great !
another thing the guy lives in india where video card prices are sky high compared to in the good ol us of a.. hd7750 goes for $160 , hd7770 for $200, gtx560 for $250..
thats not cool.. sorry about going off topic guys

a lot of thanks to all of you guys you are really helping, much appreciated. In our Currency the budget is from 5k to below 8k according today's Dollor to INR forex rate that budget in usd is $150, and all our IT Products pricing depends on $ to rupee forex rate. and the sad thing is 1 $ = 56 Indian Rupees+8% tax.

Sorry I went off topic.

and he really doesn't need 6850 or 6900 series because he plays bf3 at lowest settings possible, and he plays that game only 3 hour in a week. other than that he plays driving sims, racing sims, and gta. he never going to play high end games like crysis or something. you are free to suggest from any site i will search it for my local availability, i am personelly using this
http://www.ebay.in/itm/XFX-NVIDIA-GeForce-GTX-285-1GB-D...

but he doesn't liked it i don't know why. HD 7750 is looking very good and tempting.
any more replies will help a lot. thank you.

Mmmm, that 285 looks not bad, it is cheaper and a lot faster than the 7750.

It is an older card though, no dx11, but with his games that wouldn't be a problem i think.

Not sure, someone will probably prove me wrong but i would go for that 285 i think.
