Need Help Upgrading My Graphics Card!!

I have a Dell Studio 540; Intel Core 2 Quad CPU Q8200 @ 2.33GHz, 4 Cores, 4 Logical Processors. I want to upgrade my graphics card and I need information on what is some of the best I can get within a reasonable price. I'm not too experienced with these things so all information will helpful. I am also not sure of my current graphics card because I bought this Dell off a friend. So if there is a way to find that out as well that would be great. Thank you!

Right click your desktop and choose properties or personalize and then click display settings, you should see your video card or integrated video chip listed in the description.

However, since your cpu is pretty low clocked and you probably have a 300w or less power supply the only card I can really recommend would be a HD7750.

You can open the side of you case and look at the sticker on the power supply, the model number will tell you the wattage of the unit.

You've got a 350W power supply.

But you're lucky its a Dell, because Dells actually use halfway decent power supplies in their computers as opposed to HP and Acer and whatever.

You could probably run a 7750 no problem on that computer.

Is an Asus Radeon HD 7750 1 GB 128 bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 x16 okay?

If it's a 350w you can get away with a 7770. 86 watts.

I'd still have to recommend the 7750, even with a 350W from Dell, because I can be guaranteed that it would work properly.
