i have a mentally disabled friend with not much money and he wants a pc for gaming. he knows he cant afford a top of the line pc and would happily settle for something much cheaper as long as it gets him from point a to point b. he needs a prebuilt system. he doesnt have an lcd monitor eaither so he needs that too. keep in mind, what you may think is old and obsolete would make him quite happy. what would you recommend?

Would work fine for what you have somewhat described.

Does the monitor have to be 1080P or what is optimal screen size. Also is OS needed? You should try and help assemble one with/for him. It's quite easy and a much cheaper alternative. Usually companies like CyberPower or iBuyPower, although more affordable than Alienware, still jip you off.

Very smoothly at max graphics settings......Under $600...Without building a PC.....Probably not going to happen. Best bet is to upgrade a current PC with a PCIe graphics card with 256+ MB of VRAM, and have at least 3 GB of RAM. A dual core processor with 2.3 gHz+ is also advised. Most of these parts can be picked up cheaply (except for the processor) at any local computer store such as Radio Shack.
