My temps are running from 77 to 90 C , GPU fan and usage at 100%, case fans at maximum, while playing Bioshock 1 on both, max and low settings. My system is:
Mobo: Asus p8z77-m pro
Ram: 8g Patriot G2 1600mhz
PSU: Corsair TX 750W
Case: CoolerMaster HAF 912 (click the name to see pic of fan placment for case)
CPU cooler: corsair h60
Mobo allows max of 4 fans: 1 cpu, 3 case. Have H60 using up one case fan, and its placed on the rear. I have one exhaust on the top of the case, and one intake on the front. I'm thinking of moving the intake to the side, so it can go over the GPU. Need more advice on that. Cable management isn't an issue, I have them out of the way of all components and neatly tucked into unused HDD bays out of the fan's way.
This doesn't happen with HL2 (i know HL2 is older, but it was updated to be like Ep2, which was released the same time as Bioshock, so it's more graphically intensive to run than before) I usually stay at 50 to 60 C, and GPU is around 50-60% in use.
My questions are:
1. What can one do to prevent such overheating? Bioshock 1 is an old game, and don't my specs more than meet the requirment for this game?
2. If my mobo has limited number of fan connectors, how can I add more fans to my chassis (that can still be controlled by the fan control software)?
