Which one is better processor?core 2 duo or core i3 for gaming?

i3-2370M? That is a laptop processor my friend, not a desktop processor.

well considering your e4500 is one of the slowest c2d ever made, any desktop cpu with i3 branding on it will be faster...

all latest i3 cpus have clockspeeds above 3GHz... (except the low power 35W 2120T at 2.6)

OK generally any 'i3' desktop processor will be faster than your C2Q.

i3-3220 is the best cpu for gaming of the i3's. This is also a tom's hardware pick.  

Graphics cards can indeed be affected if your CPU is not up to par.
