I love my Teac. Plextors are great, too. I had an LG/Goldstar drive that worked great but didn't have a huge array of features.

I have no personal experience with Yamaha or Sony drives, but I have friends that have them (different models than what you list), and they work pretty decently.

If you can get a Plextor for a little difference, I'd recommend that over any others.

ricoh also make some very sweet drives:)
i got a 12x10x32x and its never made a dud disc... even when win2k turned off DMA mode and make the drive PIO... leading to 137 avoided buffer underuns :)
cd still played flawlessly.

Is that a Northwoody in your pocket or are you just eXPited to see me?

honestly i won't really recommend sony cd-rw drives
my sony 12X 8X 32X CRX160E is driving me crazy...
the software they included (B's Recorder Gold) just won't work with the drive, and that cost me a total of 12 CD-Rs that are burnt improperly...

but still, these are just my probs, i don't know abt others...
but Sony drives are quite cheap though
