So, I was originally going to get the Corsair Carbide 600T case: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...

For this build: PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant / Benchmarks

CPU: Intel Core i5-3570K 3.4GHz Quad-Core Processor ($189.99 @ Microcenter)
CPU Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper 212 Plus 76.8 CFM Sleeve Bearing CPU Cooler ($19.99 @ Newegg)
Motherboard: ASRock Z77 Extreme4 ATX LGA1155 Motherboard ($134.99 @ Amazon)
Memory: G.Skill Ripjaws X Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory ($39.99 @ Newegg)
Storage: Seagate Barracuda 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive ($80.53 @ Amazon)
Storage: Samsung 830 Series 128GB 2.5" Solid State Disk ($69.99 @ Amazon)
Video Card: Sapphire Radeon HD 7970 3GB Video Card ($387.86 @ Newegg)
Case: Corsair 600T ATX Mid Tower Case ($133.56 @ Mac Connection)
Power Supply: Antec High Current Pro 750W 80 PLUS Gold Certified ATX12V / EPS12V Power Supply ($159.99 @ NCIX US)
Optical Drive: Lite-On iHAS124-04 DVD/CD Writer ($17.99 @ SuperBiiz)
Monitor: Asus VH236H 23.0" Monitor ($139.99 @ NCIX US)
Total: $1374.87
(Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available.)

However, today I saw the Corsair 500R is on a great sale for $89.99: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...

So, if I went with the Corsair 500R for my build would I be losing much. I like the design of the 600T slightly better and the 200mm fans, but I don't know if it is worth how much it is selling for. I would greatly appreciate some input!

THANKS!

Aside from obvious space or lack of ventilation issues, case selection is really more of a personal choice. Both of those are nice cases and would work fine for your build.

At this price, I would definitely go for the 500R. That sale price is stupendous, and the case is very good.

I personally have a 600T (white), but I got mine on sale as well at the time when the 500R wasn't on sale. I personally like it's looks, but the 500R seemingly does have better air flow unless you move some HDD cages around and maybe throw in an extra side fan or two.

Either way, both solid cases. But I can't see the argument being made here for the 600T when the 500R is so cheap (unless you really, really like its looks enough to pay extra)!

EDIT: Yikes - I just checked the prices for the 600T and it doesn't look pretty. $160 for the black, and $180 for the white. I got mine on sale for around $110 which is much more reasonable. Go with the 500R, OP.

Hope you ordered your SSD already, they are sold out on Amazon!

Even so, there's a good 120GB SSD on sale for that price almost daily.

I got the 128GB Samsung SDD this morning on AMAZON for $70!!!! I saw it was posted on reddit.com/r/buildapcsales and jumped on it ASAP. I was very happy.

So far, I have gotten everything on sale. The HDD for $70, SDD $70, and PSU for $90. Now, I could get this $135 case for $90.

I have been seeing the black for $135 and the white for like $155. I was hoping I could wait out for the white to come on sale. If I could get it for like $140 I would be so happy. But, I cannot justify an extra $60 between the 500R and 600T even though I love how the 600T looks. It seems like the 500R is such a good deal right now.

You will be happy with any of those Corsair cases, my first build is in a 600d I think and it is MASSIVE but it also made it very easy to assemble which is nice on your first time, and their cable and drive management is top notch.

Hmm, looks like you've found some good sales then. I was just scoping Newegg prices and those were the numbers that I got - but usually there are better deals to be found.

Still, a $50 premium is not something I would pay to get a 600T over a 500R. If it were closer to $20 then absolutely.

If you buy that ASROCK board at Microcenter with the 3570k it is $50.00 off or $84.00
Use the $50.00 to get the 600T I love mine!!
