Intel core i5 3550 stock cooler

today i made my first rig. i switched on the PC. It worked fine. But then i touched the fan of CPU while it was running and it stopped working. I had to restart the PC and nw it's kinda working fine but looks somewhat slow. Did i do anything wrong?? My PC's specs are Core i5 3550, Intel DH77EB, Corsair GS600, Corsair Vengence 4 GB DDR3 RAM, Seagate 500 GB SATA, Corsair 300R case........Please guide me

Well you can download something like HW monitor and see what the temps and fan RPM is, but I doubt you have anything to worry about. The computer normally keeps the fan speed low to save power and reduce noise and only cranks up the speed when the CPU is under load and creating more heat.
