Will the GTX 660 Ti run on PCIe 2.0??

Hi All,

I'm planning to upgrade my HD 5750 with a GTX 660 ti.
But just before the purchase, i saw that GTX 660 ti is a PCIe 3.0 card . My mobo is having PCIe 2.0 slot. So will the GTX 660 ti run in my system???

These cards are backwards compatible, you just will not get the full bandwidth that the card is capable of

Yes. The PCI-E thingy is all backwards compatible. I'm also positive that the card will run normally without any restriction regarding bandwidth when you have a PCI-E 2.0 x16 slot (make sure it runs at x16).

Short answer. Yes, however I would worry more about your CPU and power supply. I hope your cpu wouldn't bottleneck your new card and that your power supply is sufficient.

I think it wont.... But stilll plz share your views on the specs of my system below:-

AMD Phenom II X6 1055T 2.8Ghz
6GB Corsair DDR3 RAM
600W Huntkey PSU

I have the same idea to upgrade my GPU to GTX 660 TI

AMD Phenom II X6 1055T 2.8Ghz
12GB (2x4GB and 2x2GB) Kingston HyperX DDR3 RAM (1600 MHz)
asrock extreme 3 890gx
Corsair 800W PSU

But I'm not worried that it will burn my CPU, and if I think the CPU is too slow after 660 TI, then I just have to overclock it a LITTLE bit
