# Anyway to change Map size used in Singleplayer

Hello,

Is there anyway to use the larger map sizes for the single player game
in the demo? Would be nice to get some offline practice w/the Heli and
planes. I can do it creating a local server but the game won't start
until at least one other player joins the game, so this really isn't a
good option.

I have applied all the tweaks and it works ok, except - 31 bots lags my
machine to hell and the bots don't work very well in the enlarged map...

just to make things easy, lets combine all known tweaks into one post

1) to run BF2 in 1280x1024 resolution:

"C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2 Demo\BF2.exe" +menu 1
+fullscreen 1 +szx 1280 +szy 1024

2) to remove the tutorial voice:

open the Common_client.zip file in mods\bf2\ and in the sound\english
directory in the archive there is a directory called "help_vo" just
delete this directory and the tutorial voice will bother you no more
smile.gif

3) to remove the intro/nag screens:
in the directory mods\bf2\movies there are all the bik files that get
played when the game is run...

just replace the bik files with text files of the same name (eg delete
the EA.bik file, then create a new text document called EA.bik ...
just leave it as an empty file) replace all of the file in the movie
are the main menu background videos...

4) to remove the SP timelimit: (thanks masterpie smile.gif )
To get rid of the single player time,

open the following file in wordpad: gpm_cq.py
Find the following line host.registerHandler('TimeLimitReached',
onTimeLimitReached, 1), put a # in front of it.

5) to increase the bot # higher than 16: (thanks shadowknight
smile.gif )

edit the mods\bf2\ai\aidefault.ai file with notepad. Rem out the 3
lines above the section mentioning the unsupported bot numbers, and
then un-rem the 4 lines below..
you can change the number of bots from 32 to whatever... 50 seems a
good maximum number for the gulf of oman 16 player map... nay more and
it gets too bottlenecked

This is some great info but I'm not seeing where it tells me how to run
a singleplayer game with the larger map.... maybe I'm just missing
something....

On the Movie remove tip number 3, I just renamed the "Movies" folder to "Movies original" and then made a new empty folder and named it "Movies".
