I want to upgrade my current graphic card, but want to make sure I get something that is better than what I am running. With all the choices, and prices, I am unsure if I should even upgrade at this time. I currently have two 4870s in a crossfire configuration. I've looked at the 7970 ghz edition and the GTX 680. Is there something less than $300 that would be better than what I have, or should I just save up and build a new computer in 6 months?

MB Gigabyte GA-X48-DS4
CPU E8400 Wolfdale 3.6 ghz OC
Memory OCZ DDR2 PC2-8500 Reaper HPC 8gb
Video 2 4870s in CF config
Power Corsair HX750
Case Cooler Master RC-690-KKN1

Solution
If it doesn't bottleneck your current setup, it shouldn't bottleneck GTX 680/HD 7970 either. It's not like they are MUCH more powerful :).

The cpu will definitely bottleneck... (but not that much since most games are only optimized for 2 cores...) If you overclock the cpu though (you should be able to hit 4 hz easy with a decent cooler) it shouldn't be much of a problem for a year or so.

Ok. That is were my problem is then. Right now my CPU sits at 70C when I run prime95. Should I look into a better air cooler before I attempt the 4 ghz? If so, what air cooler will bring my temps down enough to OC to 4 ghz?
