I have a AMD Radeon HD 7570 and I would like to upgrade to one of the high-ish end cards like the 7950 but i'm not sure what to get and I don't have a crossfire ready board at the time.

You have to give us more info, what resolution is your monitor, what's your budget, and which games are you going to play, then it's much easier to help you my friend.

I think that the 7970 and gtx 680 are overkill at 1080p,they are geared toward 2560x1600 resolution, radeon 7950 will also kick ass at 1080p and it should do just fine.

Future proofing man. They'll get outdated 6-12 months after 7950/GTX670 gets outdated.

Since money isn't the issue you could go all the way and buy a Radeon 7970 ghz edition.Although it's not stretching it's wings at that resolution, you will be more future proof as 'killerhurtalot' said, good luck anyway.
