Speed lost from NOT enabling crossfire?

I have 2 HD 6870s, and when crossfire is enabled under catalyst, all graphics-intensive software gives a BSOD upon load.

How much slower is it w/o crossfire "enabled", assuming the two cards are still connected? Are they both being utilized still?

Of course if anyone could help with the BSOD I'd appreciate that as well :p

W/o CF enabled, you will be at the speed of 1 card. But there is a reason your CF setup is crashing. That's not normal. Clean your system with CCleaner: http://www.piriform.com/CCLEANER Do the Clean and Registry both. You may have to run it more than once if your system is badly corrupted. See if that alone helps.

If not, you may want to unistall the graphic driver, run Driver Sweeper from Safe Mode, and have it remove any AMD, Nvidia, and ATI graphic driver remnants it finds. Reboot and install the latest driver for your card and O/S.
