7850 vs it's alternatives

I have $200 to spend on a GPU. I plan on selling my 6870 to buy a 7850, but I don't really know how it compares to other cards. I use my computer for gaming and cad work (autocad, ram, sap, inventor, revitt, solidworks). I originally plannedo n buying another 6870, but it just seems better to pick up a better single card than spend the money on crossfire.

There is no alternative yet unless u want to buy out dated equivalent nvidia card. Wait for 660 regular or 650 release. u will be better of with another 6870 in crossfire. 6870 is a good card.

Would I really be better? I always hear that the 6870s don't crossfire well. I shouldn't be concerned with running out of memory?

go ahead and buy a 7850 it performs like a 6970.

Getting a 7850 would be better than just buying another 6870? If the 7870 isn't much more (seems about $40 more) I'm thinking about going up to that.

7870 would be much better than the 6870 crossfire. I'm not a fan of dual card configs, because they frequently give you issues. And yeah the 7870 is a killer deal, it's $250 and it performs like a 580. OC'd, it will perform faster than a 7950.

ya if you can spend $40 extra then hd7870 is definately worth it
