Hello, i am new here, i have researched on other forums but have seen toms hardware is the best to come to for help.

Now i own a H60 cosair liquid cooler and a 660 ti but i want to upgrade in the next year or so. I have a z77 sabertooth and 16 gb vengeance cosair ram.

I also own a HX 850, now should i go for a 670, 680 or 690. I have heard gigabyte is good but never used the brand, i am also leaning towards EVGA but i own a MSI at the moment, and so far i like MSI, but i can get EVGA from a supplier in my city of Melbourne AUS.

I want as many suggestions as possible but bang for buck, but would my cpu not bottlekneck a 670, 680 or 690 on 4 Ghz?

Cheers

Could you elaborate more on what brand, and also i might wanna play on a 50 inch Samsung in the future. But i want the card to be future proof for Crysis 3 and more, what are your suggestions. But mostly to play on my LG 21 inch monitor.

Personally I would go with ASUS for either card, but I may just be an ASUS fanboy. Oh, and a 50" TV would most likely still max out at 1080p, so the size isn't an issue.

I am a bit worried about SLI as heat can produce in my home, i also have heard some negatives about SLI, all i want is a single card bang for buck. The MSI i brought was around 300 something and i am basically paying 600 all together for SLI, were i would rather pay less for a better GPU. I have been recommended a 7970 but also been told the 680 are great, i got recommend a gigabyte model. I am an Nvidia fan boy as i have had bad experiences with ATI in the past.

I had a look at this MSI

http://www.pccasegear.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=20774

Also this Gigabyte one

http://www.pccasegear.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=21725

Also here is the 7970 page from my pc store i buy from

http://www.pccasegear.com/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=193_1309

I have been recommended the 7970 but as i have seen the 680 cost alot more in my country, it seems the MSI 680 is catching my eye as i have owned MSI previously, let the suggestions begin!

The best single card setups, bang for the buck, are the 7950 and the 670 when it goes on sale. They can be had for around 310. I see you already spent 300 on a 660ti. That's your loss. At this point another 660ti would be your smartest choice. You already have 90%+ of the 7970 or 680, so I don't see the point in getting one. The only real single card upgrade for you would be the Titan.
I'd say suck it up and do SLI. If you have cooling problems, do "The Mod". Well documented on overclock.net.

Can you please link the mod thread, also i have seen benches on Toms Hardware and SLI is the best way to go.

In response to your CPU bottlenecking, no it wouldn't. but have you tried pushing it further anyway? the H60 is more than capable of keeping that cool up to around 4.4 GHz (provided your CPU will allow it). just give it a go. pop up your multiplier to 41,42,43,44 and see what you can run it at. if you can do it, then why not eh?

also, i have a 670 and it does the job more than adequately, in fact, when i am not benchmarking, i underclock it for gaming as it doesn't need everything it has got to run most games @1080p maxed out (60+fps)

I am fine leaving my CPU at 4 Ghz for now, but do you think it would be wise to go SLI, i do not like it much but if i can get a big performance boost why not. Give me your feedback.

if you are going single monitor, then you are better off power consumption wise to go with a single card. plus, it's not to do with the size of the monitor, but the resolution that it outputs. all cards perform differently for different games. considering your TV screen will only display @ 1080p, there is no need to go overboard with it.

Let me know what games you play and I will try to do my best to find the best card [bang for buck] for you!

considering that you want to be looking at playing Crysis 3 at max settings, here is a link that displays how GPUs fare against it!

http://www.guru3d.com/articles_pages/crysis_3_graphics_performance_review_benchmark,7.html

Bear in mind that the 590 is an older GPU, it doesn't future proof at all.

Most people are happy playing at the "high" settings (I am, and that's all i can go by)

http://www.guru3d.com/articles_pages/crysis_3_graphics_performance_review_benchmark,6.html

Bear in mind a 670 will play this @ your max resolution at just under 60fps (perfect fit, eh?) i'd go with one of those. maybe and OC or power edition of some sort (just look for one with highest stock speeds and check that the reviews don't say it sucks!)

The best two (from what I have seen) are the EVGA GTX 670 FTW edition and the ASUS DCUII Top versions. look at your budget and do what is right for you!

ASUS matches exactly with the MSI, why did you not suggest the MSI version here it is.

The MSI, actually clocks a few MHz lower with boost than the ASUS, but the EVGA FTW clocks higher than both and also has a memory overclock of 200MHz which the other two don't.
