Connecting hub/switch to router without an uplink port?

Hi all,
Posted a thread last week asking about possible hubs or switches to use to add more ports to our router and got recommended a few. However, I just noticed the router (Netgear DGN1000) has no uplink port. How would I go about adding the hub to the router without one? Would it still work if I added it to a regular ethernet port?

You can use any of the LAN ports on the router.
