So which IR filter is the best for usage with Olympus E-1???

The Oly E-1 has a rather low sensitivity to IR light - so you must use
the filters that are closest to red. i.e. Heliopan 715, Hoya R72, or
Wratten 89B (all with 50% cutoff around 715-720 nm).

This guy reports success with Hoya R72, but that B&W 093 (830 nm) is
too dark: http://www.snowhenge.net/olylog/ .
