Connect gtx 590 to hdmi tv

Hello,
i'm trying to connect my pc graphics card(gtx 590) to my tv with sound. there are 3 dvi output sockets for multiple monitors and a (i think) a hdmi-mdp socket. if i get a hdmi-mdp adapter to a hdmi and connect that to my tv will that give me picture and audio?????.
hope someone out there isn't a confused 62 yrs old.

You are correct. An adapter usually comes with the video card. HDMI will give both picture and sound.

You might have to change the sound output device in Windows 7. You can do this by opening the volume mixer from the system tray bar.
