or

Amd Phenom ii x4 B.E. -> Fx 8150 and aftermarket cooler for a smallish overclock

What i want: Better FPS while playing and recording high graphics games such as BF3 using Dxtory.

thanks guys. :D

1.670>570 because the 570 is outdated and the 670 is ~20% better than the 570
2.i would wait for the piledriver cpu's to come out i think they will come out on the 23rd(don't quote me on that)

It's really very difficult to give an answer to a question like that without knowing your other components! But if I have to choose between those options, for better FPS & gaming purposes like you said-

Get the upgrade from 570 to 670!

GTX 670 is a lot more powerful than the 570 & delivers excellent frame rates @ 1080p gaming with very high details

Awesome! Thanks you guys! My bday is soon so I will wait for the Piledriver.

Now would that 670 give me better fps WHILE recording? B/c the cpu is at 89%ish while recording.or would the boottleneck make it the same?

since the 670 is such a powerful card it would be bottlenecked by the phenom 2 (which one do you have) the new piledriver is supposed to be a 10-20% improvement over bulldozer and a 8150 won't bottleneck the 670 so your good

The Phenom II X4 BE is considered better for gaming than the FX series CPU's. Upgrading to a 8150 probably wouldn't help you at all. I'd go with the GTX 670 upgrade.

You will see that the Phenom II is ranked higher than the FX 8150 for gaming.

between the two, I would say 670, but if you are thinking about Cpu, wait for piledriver FX, which should be out on the 23rd I believe. So if you were thinking about upgrading cpus, the 23rd/24th is the day you wait for benchmarks on Piledriver FX

Agreed, the video card.

*Your gaming bottleneck is primarily the graphics card, though you would still get better performance in some games with a better CPU.

However, a GTX670 is about $400.

My advice is to get the GTX670, then later update your CPU when you can afford it.

**I'm not sure exactly why you record, but one option is to use the HALF VSYNC setting to run your game at 30FPS. This will reduce the CPU and GPU load by a lot. Also, you want to record at 30FPS anyway usually if you wish to send to Youtube.
