so.. i have been upgrading alot these last couple of weeks... and now it has almost come to the end... thought it was the end until my old PSU just blew the *** up .. pretty scary boom i must admit :o

My gaming Rig is this:

• Gigabyte GA-990FXA-UD3, S-AM3+

• AMD FX-6200 6-Core Processor 125W

• Corsair SSD Force Series GS 240GB 2.5"

• 2x 500GB HDD 7200rpm

• Sapphire Radeon HD 7970 GHz 3GB GDDR5 Vapor-x

• 4x4GB Corsair Vengeance 1600mhz (16GB Dual link)

• Blu ray drive

• Wifi PCI

old PSU was an Energon EPS-750 from previous owner, and to be honest i dont know much about electricity, wattage, amps... and how well good quality and bad quality preform to get the wattage they advertise. but i've asked around and some people told me that i should go with 500w quality and referred to THIS ONE which should be good quality.. riiight?

but my question is, is 550 Wattage enough for my system?

thanks in advance

That Seasonic PSU is great get it. It is 80+ Gold certified meaning it doesn't lose much power. Plus it is modular.

Thats a nice PSU. Should do its job, but if you feel unsure theres always a 600W PSU available.

P.S. How the hell did you get that Vapor-X? :o

Nice system. Yeah, a quality 500W or more should be enough; the Seasonic's great.

Brilliant. How do you like the unit?

Very nice, you get a cute pouch to your cables ... and nice velcro seasonic logo's to cables... but im not happy with the cables .. too stiff and plasticky, but thats not a big factor... overall nice unit ! good and silent!
