Bandwidth Allocation

Hello Forum, My brother just bought a new Lap Top, and he is ALWAYS downloading stuff like movies and music and what not. Big downloads. and he uses up all my bandwidth so when i go to play a game or something it's always laggy or slow. I was wondering if there is a way to limit how much bandwidth he gets so everyone else inst effected, also would upgrading my router help? I'm thinking of getting one that makes gaming its first priority, and since my old one in starting to collect dust. Any tips or tricks would be great, Thanks.

Check to see if your old router has QoS settings on its web config page.
You may be able to give a higher priority to gaming ports.

Alternatively, sneakily install bandwidth restriction software on his laptop.

like netlimiter or DuSuperController great tools ! worked for my brother like charm.
He was also downloading very much and took all the bandwith I installed DuSuperController, configurated and...
.... great tool.
