Hopefully the 7990 can give the 690 some competition, I hate to see nvidia ahead of AMD. I think that the 7990 with an absolutely EPIC 6gb of mem will reclaim the crown and put Nvidia back in its place.

its likely going to beat it. Dual gpu cards are meant for either 2560x1600 single screen or 3 screens. and in those resolutions, a normal 7970 is better than a 680, so i would expect 2 7970's to be better than 2 680's

keep in mind its 3gb each, so I think its just 3 gb since its crossfired techinically (because vram isnt additive). if it was 6 gb each, then its basically 2 sapphire toxic 6gb in crossfire, and thats just plain overpowered.(and way to costly)

@aboves first link confirms my statement about it really being 3gb

the 7990 ghz edition with 12 gbvram cost around 900 $ and normal 7990 cost around 800 to 850$ it cost are good as performance

Sorry, forgot to convert, $1.5k. And same, will rather get two or three 7970s.

And then suddenly Asus ROG GTX690 with DirectCU II, 8GB of VRAM and beefier power delivery than two GTX680s.

This card will sell out almost immediately upon availability just like the GTX 690 did... there are plenty of people out there who don't care about value and just want the coolest fastest thing around, and I guarantee you there have been AMD fans waiting specifically for the 7990.

Renz is correct - that shot you posted was proven fake a while ago

Notice the date on that news story?

I don't think this is an official AMD release. Seems like Powercolor just hacked two 7970s onto the same PCB.

I'm with you. Robbing a bank is the only way I could afford this card! :D

$900 isn't to bad for the performance it will likely give, I got a few cards in my collection that at one time was more expensive than this lol. Back on topic I hope that it beats the GTX690 enough to make Nvidia worry and who knows it might shake the prices up a little.
