Do I need new ram?

When I was making my pc, I got 8 gigs of ram free with my motherboard, but the ram I got is pretty cheap, so i'm wondering if it's holding my pc back. My specs are

Intel I5 3570k cpu @ 3.8 Ghz
Sapphire Randeon 7850 HD
Team Xtreem Dark Series 4GB DDR3

I was planning to go with 8 gigs of G-Skill Ripjaws, but i've been using this ram since I got it free. So is it fine, or would I get better performance (even if just a little) out of ripjaws?

the ram you got it is 1600mhz ram, check that it is set to that speed in your bios (most are set at 1333mhz default) and see how that goes. its not bad RAM at all, i presume that you actually have 8gb not 4gb as stated below.

Yeah, it's 4 gb x2. I set it to 1600 mhz the day I set things up, so I guess i'm good. Thanks for the help.
