VGA means 640 x 480

And, how do you define a "normal" screen??

not all of the nokia screens have a tft display. or do they?

when i was looking at the nokia site, some fones specifically said 'tft

no they don't.

the 6600 for example has a tft screen whereas the 7250i has an stn
screen. TFT offers better refresh rates and is clearer, can't think of
any other advantages at moment..

TFT is a subset of LCD, and is sometimes referred to as TFT-LCD. It
refers to a particular design of LCD display. I think all the colour
screens are commonly TFT, but I could be wrong.

Here is a FAQ: http://www.repairfaq.org/filipg/LINK/F_Theory_LCD.html

SXGA is 1280 x 1024
VGA is 640 x 480
QVGA is 320 X 240 (Quarter VGA)
QQVGA is 160 x 120 (or QSIF)

16CIF is 1408 x 1152
4CIF is 704 x 576
CIF is 352 X 288 (Common Intermediate Format)
QCIF is 176 X 144 (Quarter CIF)
Sub-QCIF is 128 x 96

Not sure how they could have a zoom function when not in camera mode,
but anyway ... :)

My 6600 has a digital zoom function (2x). See

Do you not have Google on your computer? ;)

thanx for the help,

i ment when in the camara mode, can u zoom. because with the 7250i, u can
only zoom into the picture after u have taken it. so u cant really take a
clearer picture, becasue u can zoom in.

the 6600 is a wicked fone, that has a proper zoom funtion, but it is too
big.

considering the features and large screen size, the 6600 can't get
much smaller! unless you want a difficult to use keypad!
