ok, so the situation is this...
Im am going to build my first gaming rig. Im a pretty hardcore gamr but it has always been on consoles and frankly im over consoles. Want to fully appreciate games like BF3 and get into DAYZ. I have don some research into what it takes to build a rig and I think I can get it done as itdoesnt seem too difficult. I have looked around at tips on bulding budget rigs and component reviews and have put together a list of different component that I am looking at getting.

It is a working progress so be gentle lol as I do get confused when it comes to components being compatable with one another. Here is the list so far...

CPU - Intel core i5 2500k = $219 PCG
- Intel core i5 3570k = $233 PCG *
- Intel core i7 2600k = $299 PCG

CPU Cooler - Cooler Master Hyper 212+ = $28 A
- Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO = $35 PCG *

GPU - EVGA GeForce GTX 560 Superclocked = $169 A
- ASUS Radeon 7850 $235 PCG
- EVGA GeForce GTX 660 Ti 2GB = $335 PCG
- EVGA GeForce GTX 670 = $360 A *
-

MoBo - Gigabyte GA-Z77-D3H = $110 A $129 PCG
- Gigabyte GA-Z77X-D3H = $145 PCG *

RAM - PNY Optima 8gb = $34 A
- Corsair Vengeance 8GB DDR3 = $40 A
-
-

HDD - Western Digital Black 500GB = $83 PCG *
-

SSD - OCZ Agility 3 60GB $50 PCG
- OCZ Agility 3 120GB $85 PCG *

PSU - Corsair CX 500 V3 = $79 PCG
- Corsair CX 600 V3 = $95 PCG *
- OCZ ModXstream Pro 600W = $79 PCG

Case - Antec Three Hundred $65 PCG
- Antec Three Hundred Two $77 PCG
- CoolerMaster HAF 912 Advanced = $99 PCG
- CoolerMaster HAF 912 Combat w/w = $89 PCG *
- Antec Nine Hundred $115 PCG

As im in Aus the PCG stands for pccasegear.com.au and the A stands for amazon.com! I will seach more sites for cheaper prices later on downthe track as I stll have a long way to go before I start purchasing. The ones with * are the ones most likely to be included. Also some decent RAM needs to be added so if you guys could check out the list and brainstorm with me I would appreciate it...Thanks guys

Can't really comment on the CPU since I do not really build intel rigs anymore.
But if it were me I would go for the AMD HD 7950 GPU now that the 12.11 drivers are coming out and it looks like they are going to have a good performance boost. And personally I find AMD GPU to just be better than Nvidia anymore.

As far as building a rig they are not all that hard just take your time and double check your work as you go and have fun doing it.
