Diamond hd 7970

Hey guys.I just got the diamond radeon hd 7970. im not a hardware guy. i see a 6 pin and a 8 pin on the card. i only see a couple pci-e 6 pin. i have one for each AMD Radeon HD 6850 1GB in crossfire. the only 8 pin i see is for the motherboard. labeled cpu-p8. am i going to need a new power supply? thanks some pics

You can purchase a molex to 8-pin adapter! It will work fine assuming your power supply is sufficient (I would recommend a 600w for a 7970!)

would something like this StarTech PCIEX68ADAP PCI Express 6 pin to 8 pin Power Adapter Cable work a got a 800 watt power supply

Honestly, I'm not sure how well that would work. What I'm talking about is something like this http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16812887002 where you attach both molex adapters to the psu directly. However, that model is out of stock but with a bit of googling I'm sure you can find one.

so i saw online it says i can put a 6 pin in a 8 pin. it fits. so i got a 6 in a 8 and a 6 in a 6. the card starts up but no hdmi
