What are the problems with this build? Overclocking & SLI = Yes. I'm going to be playing at 1080 and on hopefully high settings. I will add a second gpu later. My concern is whether I've chosen a good mobo because all I really need is SLI and LAN Thoughts? More about : problems build Deemo13 October 23, 2012 7:48:03 AM I would go for the 3570K instead, and be sure to get a CPU cooler if you plan to overclock. If you plan to get a second 7870 later, get a bigger PSU. Anonymous October 23, 2012 7:50:59 AM OK makes sense. Any thoughts on the motherboard because there are quite a few other good 1's for around £100 Related resources XP Build Driver Problems . It's currently the best in its price range. wanderer11 October 23, 2012 11:41:14 AM I have a 3570k/extreme 4 z77/ sapphire 7870. Just an FYI after the update to 12.11 I am normally stuck at 60 fps with everything ultra and 2x aa. excella1221 October 23, 2012 11:42:50 AM You probably have vsync on or something. wanderer11 October 23, 2012 11:47:04 AM Yeah I do. My point was it performs well. If I have vsync off I get awful tearing in everything. I have been forcing vsync on/triple buffering and running an fps limiter at 60. Nw333 October 23, 2012 11:56:56 AM ^Any overclock on that? Planning to get a 7870 for myself soon. (System got fried woot Anyways, @OP, you may want Corsair Vengeance or G.Skill Ares RAM. I dont like the XMS series. Change that SSD to a Samsung 830 or OCZ Vertex 4 if you can. excella1221 October 23, 2012 11:56:58 AM Oh okay. Consider buying a 120Hz monitor. Your fps cap w/o tearing increases to ~120. wanderer11 October 23, 2012 12:17:54 PM I have overclocked it to 1150/1350 on stock voltage, but I only game on stock. Nw333 October 23, 2012 12:36:21 PM Aye. Them 12.11 drivers really did boost performance. http://www.techpowerup.com/mobile/reviews/AMD/Catalyst_... Deemo13 October 23, 2012 7:10:41 PM The 7870 is a very quick card. Anonymous October 23, 2012 8:47:29 PM ok im changing the cpu to to the 3570k and i'll upgrade the psu down the line if i actually do think about purchasing a 2nd GPU i'm ordering in the next few hours so if there's any other thoughts you have about this build please speak excella1221 October 24, 2012 12:39:21 AM It's easier if you re-post the revised build, hun.
