I am a Cad operator (5 years in AutoCAD, few years self taught in Pro/E). I am planning to look for 3D modeling job in the very near future (starting this year). Instead of sending a standard resume on paper, I am wondering if it is easy to create it in a video format and record on a cd-rom. The interviewer just need to pop it on any computer; he/she will see a short video footage introduction to myself and a link to my html resume where he/she can print and click on a few link to some of my current and past engineering project. I think it is more convenient for the interviewer to see if my profile is suitable for the company. Thus it will save everyone time. What do you think about this idea? If it were you, will you prefer the traditional way better?
I think I've got all the ingredient (Digital Camcorder, Video editing software, burner etc except for html authoring software) necessary to realize this project. What I do need is "know how". Can someone tell me if this is a feasable project for an html dummy?
If I were you Id do it but use a interactive CD like the one created using Pinnacle Impression when working with CDs (MotionCD) or close the whole thing in Flash and autostart it.
You can use SWiSH instad of Flash and save some major $$$.
Work the same.
