Sorry if this is in the wrong category, I've never posted on TH before. I have a build that has been up and running for approx. 8 months now and recently it began blue screening and crashing. When the computer would attempt to boot up I got the "Insert boot media" error. Long story short, my C4 SSD had a bug in it cause this error after 5000 or so hours. I have since installed a newer firmware and began having a separate issue.
Sporadically my computer would completely lock up (regardless of task) and require a hard boot to come back up. Fresh install of windows and I'm still having the same problem. I thought that the SSD may have been damaged, so I removed it from the equation and formatted my storage drive (1TB WD) and installed Windows on it. Same problem.
I'm assuming this means I have a hardware issue. I ran Hot CPU Tester Pro and the system froze an hour into the test. I'm at wits end, I spent about 1200 on this build an it's my first home built PC ever and it's leaving a very sour taste in my mouth. The worst part of it is I work away from home for 2 weeks, so when I come home for my days off I'm having to spend all my free time trying to trouble shoot this. Just hoping more experience minds would know where to begin.
Intel i5-2500k 3.30 GHZ
nVidia GTX 560 TI
850w Corsair Enthusiest
Corsair H20 CPU cooling
System logs show nothing of note before the crash, just that Windows had an unscheduled shut down. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
