I'm looking into getting a pair or really nice headsets the Sennheiser PC360 to be exact. what I'm wondering is do I need a dedicated sound card to really enjoy them? my Motherboard the Asrock z77 Extreme 4 has built in 7.1 surround sound from my understanding. What I'm wondering is with my motherboard having it built in do I really need a dedicated sound card? and If so what is a good one that wont totally break me more then the Headphones will haha :)  ty!

yes you will need a sound card to get the best from them an asus xonar dx will likley be the best option. onboard sound is getting better but still its a bit of a way off the clean signal you get from a dedicated sound card.
make sure you buy a sound card that does on card processing rather than using the cpu. the lowest end creative that does this is the xtreme gamer and all the xonar cards do it on the sound card as far as i know.
i have a creative sound card and it may not be the best card out there but its still better than my onboard on my x58 chipset.
