hey guys, Im looking for a card which can suit multiple of my needs...

Im looking for something pci to plug my technic 1210 into, and jus allow me to listen to it, with ease to my pc speakers with easy volume control..my mixers been broke a while, and i liked listening to records for the sake of it, as opposed to dj'in all the time.

I use also a 5.1 audio setup on mobo(supports 7.1), but also have a extra ipod dock which can be plugged up via auxillary/phono.. so i use to it with the included wireless remote in bed, and jus switch off the speaker setup.. I usually just plug in the front headphone.
Id like to make a level sound across all speakers, not surround.

any ideas guys.

"Id like to make a level sound across all speakers, not surround."

I have been using my TerraTec Aureon Space 7.1 for the last 7 years. It surpasses most cards in terms of sound fidelity. If you enjoy the bells & whistles, then a good Sound Blaster card is the way to go -- especially one tailored to your needs. However, if you wish to listen to music on your 7.1 setup, I sincerely suggest a TerraTec card. You probably won't find one in a retail store in North America, so ordering one from the company directly would be the easiest way. It's a shame how Sound Blaster's monopoly on sound cards can push good hardware from lesser known companies into market obscurity. Sounds Blaster is a good choice for a gaming and multimedia setup, but for sound fidelity and quality, TerraTec is the wise choice.

I don't really understand what you mean by "level sound across all speakers". Do you mean you want a stereo output simultaneously to all speakers? How many do you use?

If you want stereo, I would recommend a Xonar Essence STX, as it has an amplified headphone output (will make no difference if you use wireless, but might come handy). This is a very good card for stereo output. The Op-Amps are great and also repleceable.

^^ The ST(X) is overkill though for non-audiophile grade gear. The ASUS Xonar DG(X) and Creative Soundblaster Z are the best deals on teh market right now.
