Approximate Purchase Date: e.g.: this week (the closer the better)

Budget Range: $500

System Usage from Most to Least Important: Gaming (CoD)

Do you need to buy OS: No

Preferred Website(s) for Parts: Don't care...

Location: NY, but i am buying everything online

Parts Preferences: AMD or INTEL doesn't matter to me. Just whatever works better.

Overclocking: Maybe

SLI or Crossfire: No

I am sorry for all the posts. This is my 3rd post in 3 days on the new build forum.. I just wan't to get the best build for my buck. I have upped my budget from my previous $400.

I really just want to run CoD:BO, COD:BO2, COD:MW3, COD:MW2. I would also like to beable to record in hd via fraps (or something similar). I am hopping for high-ultra at ATLEAST 60fps. If it can't run at 60fps in multiplayer then i might aswell get a console and play cod cod at 60fps. I am a former xbox 360 cod player and have noticed how much better it is on pc (especially for black ops 1).

1) Don't have the time to give you a build, I will later if noone else does.

2) The one thing that'll help the most when using fraps is to either have an SSD or a separate hard drive just for fraps.

3) ...high ultra at 60 fps isn't going to happen for $500. Though you didn't tell us what resolution monitor you need.

4) The xbox plays at 30 fps, at only 720p and low-medium settings compared to a gaming rig that can play at 60fps, 1080p, with ultra settings. There's really no comparison.

5) You need to give us more information. What's your resolution, what do you need to buy. If you think $500 is going to get you an OS, a monitor, and a computer... not happening.

Actually look it up, every call of duty game on xbox and ps3 play at 60fps and 720p max. You are thinking of Battlefield 3. All i need is to build a tower, to run cod at 60+fps and just for reference i don't know what resolution i have but my tv im using is 1080p if that helps.

Comparing performance on a console to performance on a PC is like comparing a Pontiac GTO to a Ferrari. Same animal, different purposes. I am sorry, but no, you won't get your wish for the dollar amount you're willing to spend. You'd be better off taking that money and buying an xbox 360 and the game.

Blake1243, this is the 5th time, not the 3rd, you've asked this EXACT same question on these forums. 5 posts, all titled xxxx $500 build. If you haven't received the answer you're looking for in the other 4 posts, I doubt #5 will sink in.

Also, yes COD runs at 60fps on both xbox 360 & PS3 but at 1280x720 resolution at Medium settings with no AA or AF. That's garbage compared to what a PC can do. So taking that into account, you want a PC that plays it at a higher resolution, at Ultra settings, with all eye candy on AND record. You're going to have to rethink your budget.

This is the most performance you're going to get for $500. Remember too that the 7850 got a nice increase in performance with the 12.11 Catalyst drivers. Later on down the road you can upgrade to an FX-8350 or whatever the next CPU AMD decides on.
