FX-6300 vs i5 3570k

Hi there,

Just a simple question, I want to know your thoughts on the FX-6300 vs i5 3570k. I'm on a fairly low budget (£550 total for the PC) and am wondering if there is a huge difference between the two processors, as there is certainly a considerable price difference.

I don't intend to overclock either of them, and will be mostly using the computer for gaming, at 1920 x 1080 resolution, with an AMD 7850 2gb.

If your budget is fairly low, get the FX 6300 and used the saved money on a better graphics card.

I5 is faster but fx 6300 is good for low buget

Use the most money on your GPU, the CPU is the second thing you would consider. Grab the FX 6300 and get a GPU like Radeon 7950 or GTX 670 for the saved money. However, if your budget was bigger, then there would be no doubt that the i5-3570k is the better choice.

If you are going to use the same video card either way, then get the i5.

If you are going to spend the same total money either way, get the 6300 and then spend the difference upgrading to a 7870 Tahiti LE.

I agree with getting the 6300 and spending any extra cash on the GPU.
As you are not overclocking and are only looking at a single GPU then you should be looking at 970 chipsets.

Look at places like Scan and Aria etc for Today only and deal of the day offers. It may take a little longer but you can save a fair bit just by buying at the right time.

I think I might go with the FX-6300 and splash a little more cash on a better GPU.
