The I7 is the better CPU as the price reflects!

the cores on the i7 are more efficient at running today's software enabling them to perform tasks quicker

it's not a scorch earth debate "one must be better therefore the loser must suck" but rather the i7 offers better performance and its higher price reflects that. the FX-8 is a good CPU at a more affordable price

Yes that is a good budget board that supports both Xfire and SLI. If you are doing a gaming build the I5 3570K is almost equal to the 3770K in gaming performance

its all about a budget , how much you want to spend , yes-they both good.

does not really matter for gaming since games currently are not gaining from the extra thread capability of the I7.

as the others have stated, the i5-3570 offers excellent gaming performance (often the exact same as the i7) for less then the i7

Depends on the budget and what your planning on using it for. Both are really good cpu's and will handle a very high workload.

I am also going to be using this to upload/render youtube videos and also be using photoshop, would the i5 still be better?

I would say overall the 8350 is better than the i5, i5 mainly excels in gaming but not by much. This is because single thread performance is where Intel excels. Since you are doing everything I would recommend the 8350 as it just offers more bang for the money!

I want this build to be future proof tho

more then enough performance in the i5 for that

if you want to see the i5 vs 8350 in various benchmarks

If you want it to be more future proof, I would go with the more cores --as software is beginning to use more and more cores, you will definitely benefit more from the 8350 in the near future.

besides the fact laptops have outsold desktops for almost a decade and each year the gap increases
besides the fact tablets will outsell laptops this year
besides the fact 75% of all laptops/desktops use intel CPUs
besides the fact the vast majority of intel CPUs use dual core (with or without HT) meaning there are more dual cores in the market then quads
besides the fact the FX-8 is not really an eight core CPU
besides all those facts im sure the opinions above have some sort of relevance, to at least their posters

The i7 3770k is a LITTLE bit better than the i5 3570k for gaming due to having a higher per core performance (that extra cache does matter) and depending on the game, it will benefit from extra threads. Anything past the FX 6300 is useless really, unless you already have an AMD board. I do, and I'm still torn whether to get an i5 4670k or FX 8350 in June/July when I upgrade my CPU. The i5 3570k is better than the FX 8350 in pretty much everything that uses less than 6 cores, and could beat it in overall multithreaded performance if clocked at the same rate.

I was goin to get a i7 3770k but i heard they will stop making socket 1155 this year & realest a socket 1150 to replace 1155 for new i7 4770k http://hexus.net/tech/news/cpu/49305-intels-haswell-lin... I know the i7 3770k has great marks & is a great cpu but if i get one it will be like my socket 775 next year
