Concerns regarding cpu performance Low 3dmark scores i5 2500k

Need help from other 2500k owners who overclocks. What kind of scores do you get when you overclock your 2500k?


I couldn't help but notice my i5 2500k is scoring a lot less than similar systems even when I am running it at a much higher clock. I have been ocing it for almost a year now but now I am a little concerned whether I have done something wrong with the overclock process.

my system-
Asus maximus iv gene/gen3
i5 2500k
kingston hyperx 1600 16gb
Asus gtx670
Corsair tx850
OCZ Vector 256gb primary
Coolermaster hype 612pwm
NZXT phantom full tower case with 8fan(2x200mm and 6x120mm)
this is the settings I normally use when Overclocking-

1.325vcore @4.5ghz
1.425vcore @4.9ghz
1.535vcore @5.0ghz

always left the base clock at 100, kept shifting the multiplier from 45-50

Hmm First of all Great Clock
1.you can increase the power / wattage limit in bios if its an option
2.Use task manager to kill background Apps prior to benching
3.Use High speed memory modules 1866MHz is a start

the thing is I am not worried about the little bits and pieces. My main concern is at 4.9ghz, the i5 2500k is scoring around 7900 when it should be scoring in the 8500 zone. Something must be wrong here trying to figure out what.
