Solution
If you setup your GPU to do 120fps refresh, it is going to rob ~500MB/sec of memory bandwidth for extra screen refreshing, which should have almost no impact on most modern GPUs.

Depends on the exact TV model and which cable type he used. Some LCDs actually do support 120Hz refresh over DVI-D.

Never seen one with a DL-DVI-D connection (or any DVI-D). Technically it's possible, but until someone actually shows me one, it's still a myth.

Not currently. HDMI, atm, doesn't accept 120hz except through HD3d over 720p. At least, it didn't used to. I do know a new standard is about to be entered into circulation, but I am unaware of any that have yet.

edit: I realize that 120hz TV's use HDMI, but none that I've ever heard of or seen actually accept 120hz of input. What they do is except 60hz and add filler frames.
