I am building a AsRock z77 mobo i5 2500k with 8G RAM, with an SSD for Smart Response cache and the last undecided piece is the GPU. I have considered the new 660 and the 560 ti's, but I wont be modding skyrim or anything so I am looking for a good budget card to get me going until someday down the raod when I can afford a $400 GPU. Any suggestions? I'm kinda stuck on the EVGA 550 ti right now, but am looking for some input from others. Let em know what you think! Thanks all!

I wouldn't recommend the 550Ti. Its not as fast as the price may suggest. For $150, I would recommend the HD6850 or the HD7770. If you have a pretty good power supply, they should both run just fine.

At the current moment, under $300, AMD has the best cards you can possibly get. They are seriously good for bang for the buck purposes. All the way up to the 7950. As for above $300, I would say that both brands go hand in hand with Nvidia edging out a win. AMD cards are also much better for video editing and rendering work if that's what you're into.
