This thread is pretty self explanatory...I got a free Zerotherm CF900 with no backplate. Anybody have an idea as to how i could make one? i think my temps are a little high because the heatsink is only supported by the bolts with no distribution under the board.

you could do any number of things you could get some large washers to spread the weight with some rubber washers as an insulator or get a steel or aluminum plate and drill it out and use nuts and bolts, insulated of course, because i dont think i would want to tap something that small, make sure you use some form of spring washer so it doesnt loosen over time and i wouldnt use nylocks as they have a tendency to lock up from time to time. just be creative all you need is something that is non conductive or an insulator inbetween it that wont release over time or flex or soften with heat, hell you could even use something like an old heatsink or if your motherboard doesnt have a backplate cut out you could even use that if you put spacers in and were careful
