I'm on a limited budget to upgrade my PC at the moment, but the performance I am getting out of my PC isn't getting me anywhere. I want to upgrade for better gaming performance, I don't have a great PC at the moment, but it's ok for simple - medium gaming. Here is my dilemma, I don't know what I should upgrade.

My specifications at the moment are :

US2H Motherboard Rev 1.0 (Cant unlock my cores of the 550 because of the revision.)
550 II BE 3.6 ghz
4GB DDR2 667 MHz
430W PSU Thermaltake W0070
500GB HDD (don't even know specifics)
5670 1GB DDR3 Radeon HD Graphics Card
Windows 7 64 bit

Option 1 :
7850 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814150617
550W PSU http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817171031.

Option 2 :
Buy a FX 4100 http://microcenter.com/product/376784/FX_4100_Black_Edition_36GHz_Quad-Core_Socket_AM3_Boxed_Processor
Comes with a free motherboard when you bundle it. http://microcenter.com/product/366104/GA-78LMT-S2P_Socket_AM3_760G_mATX_AMD_Motherboard
8GB DDR3 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820145345
6770 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814127599

:)

i would go for a 965 or 955 and the card in the first option.(7850)

the card in the second option and the card in the other posters option really are going to do little over what you have now.

your link to the PS doesn't work but.............. if it doesn't have any more amperage than the one you already have it's not worth getting.......... as things are I would try your existing PS with your new purchase before buying another "little" one. it may just be enough ???? ( don't look at watts go by amps/watts is misleading especially if you look at cheap PS's )

the 4100 might not work unless you update the BIOS. That board will work with a 6core 1090t because I've done it..... but it needed a BIOS update and the processor you posted is newer yet.

what's your budget ??

I would kinda do a combination of both. I would go with option 2 but not with that GPU. If you can't afford a 7850 I would hold off on the GPU until you can get a 7850 or higher then upgrade the video card. The 6770 is a fairly low end card on a 128bit memory bus and do not think it will be much better than the card you have.

I know that would be a lot more money than you want/can spend but in the end I am not sure you would be happy with the performance of a 6770 over the card you have now. But the CPU/Mainboard would be a good upgrade from what you do have now.
