Noob questions on my first build

ok so i did my first build yesterday and here are some questions

1) how do i know all 8gb of my ram installed correctly?
2) i put my ssd as my boot drive and also have a 500gb hdd how do i make it so that everytime i download something it goes into my hdd by default? i always have to redirect it because it always trys to download it in my C drive (ssd)

everything is inside the manual of the MOBO

for Ram i take the far right side slot and skip 1 to the left and put it inside that 1

pretty much it will look like this

0101
0 represents unused space, 1 represents ram inside the slot

for the SSD, just plug the SSD in first so you do not get confused and install everything into it also run windows update a few times before installing the 500GB drive

As for downloads you need to set the default download area for each application, example would be a web browser just go to tools/options and set the save files to: desired location.

To see if all your ram is installed and working correctly download cpu-z and check the memory tab. This will tell you if it's in dual channel mode and the frequency it is running at.

The gold standard for testing ram is memtest86+

I don't think the op is testing. The way I understood it was they just wanted to see if all ram was recognized by system and operating at the proper frequency.

OK. Then windows prperties will show how much is installed.
Right click on my computer and select properties.
