Which one shine more?

It actually depends on the power consumption of the device. You can get a cathode that takes lots of power and makes lots of light if you want it.

LEDs are actually VERY powerful with enough power and a heatsink(for the higher end ones) to keep em cool.

I would go LED simply because it will last nearly forever.

can you explain more

Light output is almost entirely base on how much power the light takes(so you can get a low powered led and have it light less then a high powered neon or ccfl). While LED's are more efficient then normal bulbs so are many of the tube type bulbs.

Higher powered leds can get hot enough to require a heatsink(this is all taken care of by the manufacturer if you are getting a lighting kit anyway.). This heatsink is little more then a flat metal bar for most leds(in the light rating you will have for your computer.) and is nothing like the heatsink you find on other electronics.

The part about led's lasting forever is simply put, leds rarely burn out(while most other light types go far sooner). This makes them ideal for long term use.
