AMD CPU for gaming

Which CPU would you guys recommend me to get for gaming? An FX-8320 or the FX-6300? After some research i'm quite tempted to go for the 6300. here are a few reasons why: i've heard that the FX-8 cores are a bit waste of money if someone would be just gaming plus some say that my MSi 970A-G46 will throttle with an FX 8 core.

But is it worth getting the 8320 over the 6300 if my only use will be gaming and recording gameplay?

When it comes to gaming, there really won't be a noticeable difference between the 6300 and the 8350.
Now, when it comes to your needs of editing videos, you will notice that the more threads you have (of course) the more faster any of your applications will render.
So in all, 8350 and 6300 @ stock = maybe a slight increase of fps in 8350 (say 5-6 fps), but the 8350 is the definite better when it comes to processing video game play edits.

If you're gaming with just a 5 minute video here and there, i'd stick with the 6300 if on a budget.
Go 8320/8350 if possible.

Well the 8320 temporary costs 155$ and the 8350 is 180$ so i wouldn't buy the 8350, just too expensive for what if offers

The FX-6300 was a massive failure on AMD's part and performs worse than the Phenom II CPUs. I recommend getting the 8350, or the 8320 if that's what you want, as it can compete with Intel in some cases.

If youre on budget take FX-6300, it will perform similar to the 8350 but if youre going to video editing then take FX-8350.
The difference between FX-8350 and FX-8320 is that the FX-8320 may be a defective FX-8350 and you wont be able to OC it well and its 3.5Ghz vs 4.0Ghz

But both have turbo boost. 8320 has TB to 4 ghz and the 8350 has TB to 4.2ghz though overclocking one of these chips is gonna consume a massive amount of power and create even more heat so i wouldn't OC it unless i really have to

So that's about the stock 8350 considering it has turbo boost up to 4.2 ghz :D

I guess its the 8320 then... and i also think its more future proof but what makes me uncomfortable with it is its massive power consumption and its also a heat factory. I'm still worried about the power consumption considering i have a quality 620W PSU lol, i don't even know how much power my current system draws

I have a crappy 700w. I know this for a fact.
And take this into account:
5 case fans, 5 wide ventilation points on case, my idle is 16C on an 8350. Under load it's never broken 45C in any game, including Crysis 3/Batman AC, or when I sit here and work on CS5 forever.
Of course, all addons taken into consideration.

And the CPU cooler? I have a crappy case with bad airflow and soon to be having a CM Hyper T4 for CPU cooling. Also this may have high quality parts and overall a high quality PSU, its connectors are badly made. The 24pin connector is a pain in the A** getting out of the motherboard and yet has bad contact so its been giving me some problems like one pin loses contact and the PC won't boot just frustrating. Gonna avoid Antec in the future

Believe me i know that. I've seen lots of tests and did lots of research before i chose that PSU. Though with a high quality unit i didn't expect to see low quality connectors. I mean the 24 pin as i wrote in the comment above is very hard to remove from the motherboard socket and the material used to cover the connectors its cheap low quality.

Well i had a Corsair CX430 with which i didn't have problems disconnecting the 24pin or any other.

No more AMD GPU's for me. Had really bad experience with them and will take the 7870 as a real last resort if i can't find anything from nvidia for a fair price but now i'm planing on upgrading the CPU :D So i think i will go with the 8320
