AMD A8-3870K and evga gtx 670 ftw edition

I have a Slightly beefed up hp pc and I have a AMD A8-3870K with a EVGA GTX 550Ti......the motherboard supports pci express 2.0......... I wanted to buy a evga gtx 670 ftw edition .....but the card is pci express 3.0.......will I be able to use the card on my pc? or do I have to buy a new board?

It will work. 3.0 is backwards compatible with 2.0.

Make sure you have a psu that can handle the card it uses a bit more than a 550ti.

Just have in mind that your A8-3870k can't fully use this card, due to A8-3870k being a "slow processor"

I have a bitfenix shinobi case....plenty big...yeah I know about the spped but I will build a new PC next year....looking for a black AM3 motherboard gonna put the GTX 670 in that later
