Video card compatibility!

Hello,
I want to get the MSI Radeon HD 6450 (R6450-MD1GD3/LP) 1024MB PCIe x16 Gen 2.0 video card, i dont know if its compatible with my computer,Acer Aspire M5100
AMD Quad Core CPU, thats my computer. Help please!

So yes, the HD6450 should be compatible It's a fairly low powered card so I wouldn't be too concerned about a PSU upgrade as well.

This card will do fine for anything low-end like Minecraft, Web browsing games, and a few F2P MMORPG's.

@ OP what games are you looking to play? If you want to play games like BF3 or MW3, you might want a beefier set up anyway as your system isn't very well geared towards hardcore gaming.

Yes, it will, however it's a VERY old card, so I will not recommend it.

If you can squeeze out a little more money for your graphics card, I would highly recommend a Radeon HD7750 They're very good for its price point and don't require a lot of power!

What quality you'll be able to play your game at will be different depending on your monitor size.

However, your system meets the Minimum Requirements of both Starcraft 2 and League of Legends if you purchase the Radeon HD6450

However, I'm assuming your monitor is 1366x768.

Your monitor resolution is 1440x900. This resolution shouldn't be too demanding on your GPU, so I would assume you can achieve playable framerates with a Radeon HD6450 on the Medium pre-sets on the titles you have listed.

You may want to experiment with the settings of each game to see what is the best performance/eyecandy for you!

No problem.

It may be able to run those games, however, it will probably be a very unsatisfactory experience due to how old the card is.

Ok thanks! one last thing, If i have DDR2 ram, would it be a factor with the video card you recommended me? in the title it says DDR3.
