New Opti Drive for gaming or does it matter?

Any suggestions for an optidrive for this build. I"m such a noob so sorry but thanks for any help.

Cheapest one you can find - unless you feel the need for blu-ray, then get the cheapest one with blu-ray. I don't even keep optical drives in my builds anymore - once the OS is installed, I rarely have the need for it and when I do, I can use it (semi) external.

Just built a pc amd an optical drive hasn't even had the opportunity to look at my case. I used a bootable usb. Optical drives are useless nowadays. like you said unless you want blu-ray. the cheapest one will do the job.

I have the windows 7 disk. Can I download it to a thumb drive on my old computer than install the tumbdrive on the new computer?
